As a founding director of Neqstep Ltd, Nick Coates brings a wealth of technical expertise, with in-depth knowledge of heat transfer and cooling, energy management, electronic systems, thermodynamics, high-tech materials, radiation control and optical systems, amongst other things.
Nick has an insatiable appetite for innovation, and has filed a number of patents over the years, a number of which NeQstep have developed for market. In 1998 Nick completed his Degree in Engineering Product Design at the age of 40, achieving a first class honours. |
| Previously employed as Head of Research for a leading manufacturer of visual display units for flight simulators and visualisation systems, he led a team of displays engineers, scientists, analysts, and an IP specialist to monitor market requirements and technological developments, identifying product opportunities, and developing to prototype level. More recently working for London Southbank University as the Business Development Manager, Nick was employed to identify technology within the University which was capable of commercial exploitation. Nick also ran his own business in the late 1980s - Flight Training International Limited, training over 100 pilots in a year, more than any other flying school.
Nick is 49 years old, married with two children aged 15 and 12. He plays for a local roller hockey team and coaches a teenage hockey team. He admits ¨I am as happy reading technical books as anything else or researching ideas which intrigue me on the Internet.¨ |
